Hudson County Teen Charged With Sex Crimes Against Girl, 11
A teen was arrested in Hudson County this week and charged with sex crimes against an 11-year-old girl, prosecutors said.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A North Bergen teen was arrested Friday and charged with sex crimes against an 11-year-old girl, prosecutors said.
Edgar Rompich-Ramos, 19, of North Bergen, was arrested for crimes that occurred in a North Bergen residence on various dates in 2023 when the victim was 11 years old, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said Tuesday.
Rompich-Ramos was charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, first-degree endangering the welfare of a child/facilitating child sex abuse material, and first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, prosecutors said.

He was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus on Friday without incident, prosecutors said.
He is being detained at the Hudson County Correctional Facility to await his first court appearance, prosecutors said.

The victim is known to the defendant, they said.
The state has filed a motion for detention, tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 14.
County Prosecutor Esther Suarez credited the Special Victims Unit with the investigation and arrest.
