Iconic Pharmacy In Hoboken, Tucker Drugs, Open During Renovations

Customers of Better Life Pharmacy, in a historic building, have wondered if it was closed due to construction. Owners say it's open.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Customers of the iconic corner pharmacy Tucker Drugs (now owned by Better Life Pharmacy), a store in an old-fashioned corner building at Tenth and Washington streets in Hoboken, have wondered recently if the business was closed because of ongoing construction. The owners posted signs this week saying the pharmacy counter of the iconic store remains open during renovations — at least, for prescriptions.

A worker at the store on Wednesday, reached by phone, said that the over-the-counter portion of the store was not open that day, but might open the next day. (To get the most updated information, call the store at 201-659-8492.)

A sign on the store on Wednesday (see photos) said, "The pharmacy is open [for] regular business hours from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., but under renovations. If you need to drop off or pick up any medication only, please knock on the door to let the technician know or call us at 201-659-8492. Thank you, and sorry for any inconvenience."
