Irish Heritage Events Planned For Hoboken By Business Alliance
From sports to food to music, find out about the Irish Heritage Week events in Hoboken, some of which are free.

HOBOKEN, NJ — The Hoboken Business Alliance announced on Friday the return of Irish Heritage Week with traditional Gaelic sports, a multi-day scavenger hunt, and live music and dancing.
Taking place from this Saturday through St. Patrick's Day on Tuesday, Irish Heritage Week "shines a light on the rich Irish culture and heritage throughout Hoboken," said a spokesperson.
The traditional parade isn't coming back this year (read more about that here), but many of the events are free.

Below is the event schedule submitted by the HBA:
- Irish Scavenger Hunt from Saturday through Tuesday
- Find clues in Hoboken businesses to celebrate Irish Heritage Week while exploring Hoboken from end to end. Participants can look for the Irish Heritage Week Scavenger Hunt sign at participating businesses for a lucky code to submit entries online for a chance to win gift cards to a number of Hoboken businesses. Participants can submit entries here.
- Saturday: Sports
- Gaelic Sport Instruction at Pier A Park from 10am to 12pm
- Experience the fundamentals of hurling and Gaelic football from experienced coaches right on the Hoboken waterfront. Registration for this event is required and free for all ages. Interested participants can RSVP here.
- Gaelic Sport Instruction at Pier A Park from 10am to 12pm
- Sunday: Face Painting, Cookies, And More
- Face Painting at Little City Books from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Join in festive face painting for kids and those young at heart. Choose from shamrocks, Celtic designs, and more!
- Cookie Decorating Class at Willie McBride’s from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
- Come decorate your very own Irish-themed cookies with Hoboken cookie creators Jordan and Joelle Hernandez from Double Dough. Regardless of your age or artistic abilities, decorate and enjoy a cookie of your choosing. Registration for this event is required and costs $6.30 per participant. Limited RSVPs remain and can be made here.
- Live Irish Music at McSwiggan’s from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
- Enjoy a traditional Irish music session with talented local musicians from across the city!
- Face Painting at Little City Books from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Tuesday (St. Patrick’s Day)
- Live Irish Step Dancing at The Shannon (6-6:15 p.m.), McSwiggan’s (6:15-6:30 p.m.), The Ferryman (6:30-6:45 p.m.), and Mulligan’s (6:45-7 p.m.)
- Ring in Saint Patrick’s Day by dancing and singing to traditional Irish music across four of Hoboken’s finest pubs.
- Live Irish Music at McSwiggan’s from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Enjoy a traditional Irish music session with talented local musicians
- Live Irish Step Dancing at The Shannon (6-6:15 p.m.), McSwiggan’s (6:15-6:30 p.m.), The Ferryman (6:30-6:45 p.m.), and Mulligan’s (6:45-7 p.m.)
