Police Officer And Woman Charged With Child Endangerment In Jersey City: Prosecutor
A Jersey City police officer and a woman have been charged with child endangerment after an "altercation" with a teen in their care.
JERSEY CITY, NJ — A Jersey City police officer and a woman were charged after a teenager in their care was hospitalized with injuries to the face, shoulders, and arms, prosecutors said.
Jersey City Police Officer Frank Martinez, 37, and Joanny Hidalgo, 36, of Jersey City, were charged with endangering the welfare of a child on Thursday, said Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez.
The arrests Thursday stemmed from an incident last month. On Dec. 2, prosecutors say, police were called to investigate an altercation among the pair and "a teenage child in their care."
