Walmart is closing Jet.com, but the jobs at the company's south waterfront offices have been repurposed, said a report.

HOBOKEN, NJ — While Walmart has decided to close its ecommerce brand Jet.com, the jobs at its headquarters on Hoboken's south waterfront will stay, according to a report in NJ Tech Weekly.
The company offers "curated" on-line shopping for certain brands of clothing and home goods, focusing on those for city living.
The company has already said it will lay off 29 workers at its Manhattan offices.

A story in yesterday's NJ Tech Weekly explained, "NJTechWeekly.com reached out to Walmart to ask what will happen to the Jet.com tech jobs in Hoboken. Prior to this announcement, Walmart had already incorporated those teams into the main Walmart e-commerce brand. 'These teams are part of Walmart.com and are not affected by this change,' a Walmart spokeswoman told us."
It was announced Tuesday that Walmart would discontinue the ecommerce company later this year.
