At Least 16 Tires Slashed In One Night In Hoboken: Police
Are the tire slashings and window smashings a new trend in Hoboken?

HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken residents have recently complained of car windows being smashed and tires being slashed overnight. This week, police confirmed one slashing spree.
"As of now, it looks like there were 16 vehicles that had tires slashed in the southeast section of Hoboken on Sunday, June 2 between 12 a.m. and 4:30 a.m.," said public safety spokesperson Marci Rubin.
Some were parked in area garages and others were on surrounding streets, she said. One was a municipal vehicle.

Rubin said that a 17th slashing was reported near the intersection of Third and Monroe streets, in the same area of town, but it's unclear if that one was related to the others.
Rubin did not respond to a question about a possible window smashing trend.
