Lime Teams With Google In Hoboken: Find E-Scooters Online
Hoboken riders will be able to see if a Lime e-scooter is available, get a price estimate for the trip and more.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Through a partnership with Google, it’s now possible to find available Lime scooters in more than 100 cities around the world, including Hoboken.
Last week, Lime – one of two companies selected for Hoboken’s e-scooter pilot program – announced that Google Maps will begin displaying its available scooters in the Mile Square City. On Android devices, users will be able to see if a Lime vehicle is available, how long it’ll take to walk to the vehicle, a price estimate of the ride, battery range, along with total journey time and ETA in the Google Maps app.
Lime spokespeople said iOS availability for Hoboken will launch in late August.

According to Lime, 53% of trips in Hoboken occur during “peak commuting hours,” and about 71% of Hoboken Lime riders use scooters to commute.
In the first week that Lime launched, Hoboken held the record for the highest ridership per scooter in Lime’s markets around the world. Since launching over two months ago, Hoboken Lime riders have taken more than 250,000 trips and logged more than 248,000 miles, the company said.

Lime scooters first surfaced in Google Maps in December 2018 and the two companies expanded the partnership to 80 more cities in March 2019.
“We’re excited that this partnership with Google Maps provides the opportunity for Lime to connect people to their destination faster as scooters continue to become a core part of the transportation ecosystem in the Mile Square City,” said Phil Jones, senior director of East Coast government relations at Lime.
Vishal Dutta, a product manager at Google Maps, also praised the expanded corporate partnership.
“In addition to showing you the best biking and transit route in Google Maps, you’ll now be able to see if Lime scooters or e-bikes are available, how long the trip will take, and the most efficient route to get there,” Dutta said.
