Man Allegedly Swung Samurai-Sword At N.J. Cops: Report
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 23-year-old man clad all in black and carrying a katana sword, a report says.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Jersey City police arrested a 23-year-old man earlier this week after he allegedly swung a samurai sword at officers and led them on a short foot chase.
When officers arrived at Kennedy Boulevard near Floyd Street around 12:45 p.m. on Monday, they allegedly found Jacob Perez clad all in black and carrying a large bladed weapon, later described as a “black katana sword,” NJ.com reported.
When officers told Perez to drop the sword, he allegedly told them that he was “God” and removed the weapon from its scabbard, but added that he would drop the sword if police put their guns away, authorities told NJ.com.

Shortly afterwards, Perez began swinging the sword at the officers, authorities said. At that time, one of the officers attempted to use his taser on Perez but he took off running, leading police on a short foot chase before being apprehended an alleyway on Floyd Street.
