Man Charged With Kidnapping, Sexual Assault In Jersey City: Hudson County Prosecutors
A Jersey City man approached a woman on a Sunday morning, then assaulted her in his car, Hudson County prosecutors say.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A 30-year-old Jersey City man has been charged with the kidnapping and sexual assault of a woman in that city on Sunday morning, June 2, prosecutors said.
Marc Toledo, 30, has been charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, first-degree kidnapping, second-degree sexual assault, second-degree aggravated assault, terroristic threats, and criminal restraint, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said Monday.
Prosecutors said that in the morning hours of Sunday, June 2, 2024, a 22-year-old woman reported being approached by an unknown male in the Journal Square neighborhood.

According to prosecutors, "The victim entered the white vehicle the male was operating. The male drove the victim a short distance to the area of Division Street and Eighth Street at approximately 7 a.m. The victim reported she was sexually assaulted in the vehicle."
Toledo was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City and taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility to await his first court appearance, prosecutors said.

Prosecutor Esther Suarez credited the Special Victims Unit with the investigation and arrest, with assistance from the United States Marshals Service and the Jersey City Police Department.
