Man Fatally Shot In Jersey City, Suspect At Large: Prosecutor

A man was fatally shot in Jersey City Friday night, prosecutors said. No arrests have been made.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A 24-year-old man was shot dead in Jersey City on Friday night, prosecutors said.

Shortly before 10 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department received a report of shots fired in the area of Pearsall and Garfield avenues, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.

Officers found Resheed Wallace, 24, of Jersey City with an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body.

He was taken to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 10:25 p.m.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating. No arrests had been made as of Saturday afternoon.
