Man Hit By Car While Crossing Hoboken Intersection

The driver, a Weehawken man, received a summons for not stopping, police said.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Police responded on Wednesday morning to a man who had been hit by a car while trying to cross the intersection of Eleventh and Adams streets in Hoboken, police said.

Around 8:20 a.m., Officers Christopher Hatfield and Roberto Cuevas responded to the scene. The victim told them that he had been walking in the crosswalk west to east when he was struck by a black Honda Civic.

Police said that both the victim and a witness said the driver was traveling westbound on 11th street but did not come to a complete stop at the stop sign. He began to make a left turn and hit the victim.

The driver was identified as a 28-year-old Weehawken man.

The driver was issued three motor vehicle summonses: For Failure to Observe Stop Sign, Failure to Yield to Pedestrian in Marked Crosswalk, and Unregistered Vehicle.

The pedestrian was treated at scene by an ambulance for minor injuries and did not go to the hospital.
