Man Hospitalized After Hoboken Stabbing; Police Seek Suspect

A man was stabbed in Hoboken over the weekend after confronting someone he thought was breaking into his car, the Hoboken police said.

HOBOKEN, NJ — A man was stabbed in Hoboken early Saturday morning after he and his friends confronted someone whom they thought was breaking into his car, police said.

The Hoboken Police responded to the stabbing on Saturday, March 16, around 4 a.m., near the intersection of Fourth and Jackson streets, said a police spokesperson.

"The victim and his friends confronted a man who they believed to be breaking into a car," police said, "and that individual stabbed the 22-year-old victim, who is not from Hoboken."

The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment, where he remains in stable condition, the spokesperson said.

Detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to contact Police Officer Samuel Flores at 201-420-2100 ext. 3104 or floress@hobokenpdnj.gov. Police advise anyone who is a victim of, or witnesses a crime to call 9-1-1 immediately and avoid confronting the alleged perpetrators.
