HOBOKEN, NJ — She was on her way to the gym when a stranger came from behind and slapped her on the butt. Then he did it again. That’s what a woman told Hoboken police on Monday evening after an alleged sexual contact assault took place near 2nd and Jackson Streets.
According to authorities, the woman was walking to the Sky Club Gym on Marshall Street around 6:12 p.m. when a stranger allegedly approached her from behind and slapped her on the buttocks several times.
The man then fled the area on foot. The victim last saw him fleeing south on Jackson Street. He may have met with another man wearing a bright red jacket soon after the incident took place, police said.
