Is A New Steakhouse Coming To Hoboken's South Border?
An update on restaurants in development in Hoboken, including a shop with 32 varieties of dumplings.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Is a new steakhouse really coming to Hoboken's south border? Local observers didn't have any information on this artist's rendering of Danny's Steakhouse online, but various other restaurants proposed for the mile-square city are still in the works.
Information around the web indicates that Danny's Steakhouse was at one time floated for 9 Paterson Ave., near the city's south entrance. A phone number listed on various sites turns up a busy signal.
The architectural firm with the rendering on its website didn't respond to a message, and Hoboken city spokesperson Marilyn Baer said Wednesday that this was the first she was hearing about such a business.

A neighbor of the property said he hadn't heard of any plans, but that several businesses had come and gone over the years.
The area does have much development going on right now: the streets are being paved this week, and the new Southwest Park, a block from Paterson Avenue, is expanding. READ MORE: Pop-Up Park Being Added To Hoboken's Existing Southwest Park

The closest restaurant to the property, Boken Roadhouse at 61 Jackson St., announced in March that it would close.
"We all know it's been a very rough year," they wrote. "An extremely difficult year to be in business. Unfortunately it is not feasible for us to keep our doors open. We would like to thank all of our fantastic employees."
Daniel Murphy, owner of the popular 52-year-old Danny's Steakhouse in Red Bank, said the proposal for the steakhouse isn't his. "I am not opening a steakhouse in Hoboken," he said, "and if they’re using my name Danny’s Steakhouse, that is a problem."
Meanwhile, here are two planned restaurants that are coming along:
