NJ Transit Delays: Disabled Train Hampers NYC Commute
NJ Transit rail riders experienced delays on several lines on Friday morning. The culprit? A disabled train, the agency says.

NJ Transit rail riders experienced delays on several lines headed in and out of New York Penn Station (NYPS) during the Friday morning rush hour. The culprit behind the delays? A disabled train, the agency says.
Early Friday, NJ Transit announced that trains into and out of NYPS would be subject to 30-minute delays “due to a disabled NJ Transit train near Amtrak Portal Bridge.”
As of 8:16 a.m., trains in and out of NYPS were still seeing 30-minute delays, NJ Transit stated in an update.

A NJ Transit spokesperson said that there were no customers on board at the time of the second incident.
Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast Line trains were expected to see 60-minute delays, and Morris & Essex and Montclair/Boonton (Midtown Direct) trains were expected to see 30-minute residual delays, NJ Transit stated.
The disabled NJ Transit train has been removed. Trains into and out of Penn Station New York are still subject to up to 30 minute delays following the earlier disabled NJ Transit train near Amtrak Portal Bridge.

RIDERS REACT
Here’s how NJ Transit riders reacted online after the disabled trains put them behind schedule.
Maybe you guys should just change your schedules to account for the daily delays. It’s not a delay anymore if it happens on a regular basis.
