NJ Transit Delays At NY Penn, Hoboken; Amtrak 'Minor Derailment'

NJ Transit: A "minor derailment of disabled Amtrak track equipment" caused Friday morning delays at NY Penn and Hoboken Terminal.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Disabled Amtrak equipment in the North Tube of the Hudson River Tunnel caused hour-long delays for NJ Transit train riders at New York Penn Station during the Friday morning rush hours, the agency stated.

The incident – described as a “minor derailment of disabled Amtrak track equipment” – also caused 30-minute delays at Hoboken Terminal when Midtown Direct trains were diverted into Hoboken, beginning with train #6406 at 7:28 a.m., NJ Transit reported.

NJ Transit rail tickets/passes are being cross-honored by PATH trains, NJ Transit buses, NY Waterway and private carrier buses, the agency stated.
