Noose Found Hanging From Tree Near Bayonne Skate Park: Police

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A person walking near a skate park in Bayonne on Friday found a noose hanging from a tree, authorities said.

According to the Bayonne Police Department, a person called police at 8:14 a.m. on April 19. The witness said that they found a noose “hanging from a tree near the water” as they were walking in Dennis P. Collins Park on West 1st Street in the area of the skate park.

Bayonne police responded to the scene and found a rope fashioned into the shape of a noose hanging from a tree.

After removing the rope, officers launched an investigation into the incident. No additional information was immediately available in an initial police statement.
