Famous Pancake Chain To Replace Massage Parlor On Hudson County Waterfront

IHOP is coming to the Hudson County waterfront.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — Development has been rising along the Bayonne waterfront ever since the peninsula city got four new light rail stops in the early 2000s. Now a popular pancake chain will increase the dining options.

The real estate company JLL noted that they have leased space on the Bayonne waterfront for an International House of Pancakes (IHOP) restaurant.

The leasing of space to IHOP and similar restaurants shows that "brands look to scale quickly in markets that can support high-traffic dining concepts," JLL noted.

IHOP has leased 3,750 square feet of space in South Cove Commons at 211 Lefante Way.

The restaurant will replace a Massage Envy that opened in the shopping center in 2012, but has since closed.

David Townes, who leads JLL’s northern New Jersey retail leasing team, said, “Food and beverage operators want to move fast, capture momentum and deliver on today’s consumer appetite for speed and convenience."

IHOP has 50 stores in New Jersey, and has been opening a series of combined stores with Applebees since 2024.

Patch reached out to IHOP and will update this story when more information is available.
