Pit Bull Left Tied To Park Bench In Hoboken: Police
A Hoboken woman was charged with abandoning a domestic animal after she allegedly left a dog tied to a park bench, police said.
HOBOKEN, NJ -- A 25-year-old Hoboken woman was charged with abandoning a domestic animal last week after she allegedly left a pit bull tied to a park bench, authorities said.
According to the Hoboken Police Department, officers responded to Columbus Park at 900 Clinton Street after receiving a report of a dog abandoned in the park on Monday, April 8. On arrival, the officers found a black pit bull about four or five-months-old tied to a park bench and no owner in the area.
Police transported the dog back to headquarters and gave it food while they made arrangements for its care. The dog was later taken and cared for by the Liberty Humane Society, authorities said.

The person who allegedly left the dog tied to the bench was later identified and charged with abandoning a domestic animal and failure as owner to provide a living animal necessary care. She was given several summonses for the offenses, police said.
