License Plate Reader Helps Livingston Police Catch Stolen U-Haul From Jersey City

A license plate reader alerted Livingston police that a stolen U-Haul had just rolled into town.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — After a stolen U-Haul truck pulled into Livingston on Thursday, police pulled it over and charged a woman and man with receiving stolen property, they said.

Police said that on June 29 at 4:49 p.m., Livingston officers were alerted via a township plate reader of a stolen U-Haul truck that had just entered town. The truck had been reported stolen from Jersey city eight days earlier.

Police found the truck at East Cedar Srreet and conducted a traffic stop. After an on-scene investigation, both occupants were arrested.

Nicole Odom, 38, and Orlando Green, 55, of Jersey City, were taken to police headquarters. They were charged with receiving stolen property and released on a summons.
