Popular Hoboken Foodie Event Finally Returns After Being Postponed 2 Years
The event "A Taste Of Hoboken," popular with foodies, was scheduled for March 18, 2020. It's finally happening... this June.

HOBOKEN, NJ — The popular "A Taste of Hoboken" fundraiser for the Hoboken Community Center will return this coming June after a two-year hiatus due to COVID.
The fundraiser was initially canceled on March 6, 2020, when organizers posted a message on Facebook saying they were doing so out of an "abundance of caution" and it would return months later.
Not so.

But the Community Center — which has been holding a twice-weekly pantry for those needing food, toiletries, and pet supplies during the pandemic — announced last week that the popular fundraiser will finally return.

"The Hoboken Community Center (HCC) is announcing the postponement of its annual benefit event, A Taste Of Hoboken, originally scheduled for March 18th, 2020 at the Stevens Institute of Technology Howe Center," read an announcement two years ago. "The postponement is out of an abundance of caution, following the announcement by Stevens to suspend large discretionary gatherings on campus ... the HCC is working to reschedule the event for later in 2020."

The Community Center, based at the former Hoboken YMCA on 13th Street, gives out food, hygiene products, diapers, and other items. The building also provides shelter for 96 low-income men.
At the annual A Taste Of Hoboken fundraiser, local restaurants, bakeries, wine sellers, and more give samples of tasty dishes, drinks, and desserts to attendees.
The new announcement last week said, "We are excited to announce the return of Taste of Hoboken! On June 7 from 6-9 p.m., we'll be hosting an elegant evening on the iconic Hoboken waterfront featuring local restaurants, delicious drinks, live entertainment and a silent auction to benefit the Hoboken Community Center, which encompasses the Hoboken Food Pantry."
"In just three short months, we'll be together for a fun-filled evening for a great cause. We're looking for restaurants to showcase their best dishes, vendors to provide services, and auction items that will help raise critical funds that will support the well-being of Hoboken residents. If you or your business would like to be involved, please email for more information."
