Power Out In Part Of Hoboken As Storms Roll Through City

HOBOKEN COUNTY, NJ — As a thunderstorm swept through Hoboken around 4 p.m., the city said several residents were without power.

"We are aware that there is a small cluster of power outages in southwest Hoboken," the city said around 4 p.m. "If you are currently experiencing issues with your power, please contact PSEG. Reporting it through the PSE&G mobile app. Texting OUT to 4PSEG. Calling 1-800-436-PSEG (7734)."

The utility reported that more than 100 customers had power outages in Hudson County.

The city also postponed its showing of the film "Tangled" at the county park, Columbus Park. It will be shown the night of Aug. 3 instead.

A severe thunderstorm watch was issued for Hudson County until 8 p.m. Tuesday night.

High tide is expected at 8:58 p.m. Tuesday and 9:29 a.m. Wednesday.

A flood watch has also been issued for the county until 8 p.m. Wednesday night.

The National Weather Service said that another half inch of rain could fall Wednesday.

A sudden storm on Monday night caused massive flooding to the west and north of Hudson County, and even set fire to a Bergen County house, officials said. READ MORE: Lightning Strike Sets Home On Fire In North Jersey
