Road Closures And Detours In Hoboken Due To Several Projects

HOBOKEN, NJ — If you've walked or driven around Hoboken this week, you've likely seen a number of construction and road projects, including on densely populated residential blocks. Here is a rundown of the projects.

Bikeway Improvements

To build a bikeway near the lower waterfront, according to the city:

"The contractor will undertake the following activities from Monday, September 26, 2022 through Friday, September 30, 2022, between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. with equipment set up beginning at 7 a.m., subject to weather conditions":

• Complete the installation of irrigation within the planting areas.
• Complete the plantings within the planting area.

Roadway Resurfacing

• ADA ramp and construction at the intersection of 11th Street and Clinton Street (NE Corner) anticipated for Monday (9/26).
• ADA ramp and construction on the SE corner of 8th Street and Park Avenue anticipated for Monday (9/26) and Tuesday (9/27).
• ADA ramp construction at the intersection of 11th Street and Grand Street anticipated for Wednesday (9/28) through Friday (9/30). ‍

• Traffic detours will be expected on 11th Street to allow ADA construction operations. Clinton Street and Grand Street will remain open at all times.
• Hoboken Police will manage the traffic flow at the intersections for any lane closures.
• No parking will be permitted within this area during working hours.
• Work hours for Park Avenue and 8Street as well as 11th Street and Grand Street will return to 8-6.

NHSA 11th Street Sewer Cleaning Project

"The following construction activities and traffic management are anticipated this week starting on Monday, September 26, 2022, to Friday, September 30, 2022, between the hours of 8-6 as part of North Hudson Sewerage Authority’s 11th Street Sewer Cleaning project by its contractors CRS Contractors and National Water Main Cleaning:"

Test pits and manhole installation work will occur on 11th Street between Clinton Street and Bloomfield Street.

Traffic Signal Upgrades:

"The following construction activities and traffic management are anticipated this week starting on Monday, September 26, 2022, to Friday, September 30, 2022, between the hours of 8-6 as part of Package Y (Traffic Signal Upgrades and Pedestrian Safety Improvements at 14th Street and Hudson Street) by its contractor Zuccaro."

• Work will be completed on the NW corner and work will begin at the SW corner of 14th Street and Hudson Street.
• Work will consist of installation of drainage pipes, rain gardens, and concrete bumpouts, curbs and sidewalks at 14th Street and Hudson Street.

Northwest Resiliency Park

Construction continues on the 5-acre Northwest Resiliency Park, in the northwest corner of town. Several blocks near 15th and Madison streets are closed.
