Investigation Continues Into Shot Fired Near Maxwell Place In Hoboken
A shell casing was found in the street near an upscale Hoboken complex, police said.
HOBOKEN, NJ — After Hoboken police received a report of shots fired near 11th Street in Hoboken early on Sunday morning, they found a shell casing, authorities said on social media.
The Hoboken police posted at 2:21 p.m. on Sunday:
HPD is investigating reports of possible shots fired near 11th & Maxwell La at approx 1 am. The area was canvassed & a shell casing was located. No injuries reported. Investigation remains active. The shell casing is "that part of ammunition capable of being used in a pistol or revolver" that has the powder to detonate the bullet.

The area is along the northern waterfront, next to the luxury Maxwell Place development, on what was once the Maxwell House Coffee property.
When asked for more information, city public safety spokesperson Marci Rubin said, "The investigation active, and no more information is available at this time." She said she will release more information if it becomes available.

The last fatal shooting in Hoboken was in late 2022.
