Simon Kidgits Club Welcomes Young Foodies and Families to the Annual Simon Kidgits Club Super Duper Lil Chefs Event at Newport Centre

Simon Property Group, Inc. (NYSE:SPG), a leading global retail real estate company, is stirring up tasty fun for families as Simon Kidgits Club Super Duper Lil ChefsSM makes its annual appearance at Newport Centre on Saturday, May 17, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in Center Court. Lil Chefs events are being presented at approximately 100 Simon® shopping centers nationwide to get kids learning about the craft of cooking and having fun with food.

Sponsored by The Culinary Conference Center at Hudson County Community College, Simon Kidgits Club Super Duper Lil Chefs will feature a hands-on atmosphere that will engage both parents and children in exploring the endless imaginative possibilities of pairing creativity with cuisine. The event menu offers a variety of food-focused festivities ranging from cooking demonstrations to etiquette lessons and craft-making with meal items. Other food-inspired activities offered to participants include a chance to decorate and design their very own aprons, pot holders and activity mats. Food demonstrations will teach kids about the importance of healthy eating and introduce them to the variety available through the different food groups.  All Kidgits members will receive a special goody bag upon arrival and a chance to win fantastic prizes throughout the event.

Additionally, Simon Kidgits Club® is teaming up with Lil Chefs presenting sponsor Warner Bros. Home Entertainment for the launch of Sophia Grace & Rosie’s Royal Adventure, coming to DVD, Blu-ray™ and Digital HD Tuesday, May 20. The super-cute, talented two-some of Sophia Grace and Rosie sang and danced their way to stardom on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and now families can see the little, lovable performers in their first original live-action movie.  During Lil Chefs at Newport Centre, kids can participate in a tiara and cupcake decorating activity and cookie or cupcake decorating with their own custom designed box.  Attendees can also take part in a teacup balancing relay race and vie for candy bracelets!
