Snow Day In Hoboken: Schools Closed Tuesday

HOBOKEN, NJ — The Hoboken schools will be closed Tuesday, Feb. 13 due to a forecast for (as of now) 3-7 inches of snow.

Superintendent of Schools Christine Johnson said in a phone message that the timing of the snow as well as the predicted amounts were both factors. The snow is expected to start by 7 a.m. as temperatures drop.

She wrote in an email:

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The Hoboken Public School District will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, February 13th, due to predicted snow in the forecast and the timing of the precipitation. This message will be posted on our website and on social media. Please be safe and enjoy the day in the comforts of your own home. Be sure to check your Google Classrooms, Class Dojo, and What's App Groups for school and class information.

A new forecast for the impending winter storm calls for as much as 3-7 inches of snow on Tuesday morning. A winter storm warning runs from 4 a.m. on Tuesday through 6 p.m. the same day.

The city of Hoboken issued guidance on Monday afternoon, saying they'll suspend street sweeping on Tuesday and prohibiting parking on emergency routes.
