Some Aftercare Programs Canceled In Hoboken Schools Due To Rainstorm

HOBOKEN, NJ — Across the country, from Florida to Bergen County, some school districts have canceled classes due to a massive storm system approaching the Northeast — and schools in Hoboken have begun announcing cancelations as well.

The Hoboken school district has announced that some (not all) of their aftercare programs will be canceled on Tuesday afternoon. Passport to Learning programs will run until 5:15 p.m., with any programs extending until 6 p.m. canceled.

Statewide, a few school districts have called for an early dismissal, including the Ramapo-Indian Hills district in North Jersey, near where rivers flooded last month.

Why the concerns? As Hoboken Patch noted on Friday, a storm system may bring up to 2.5 inches of rain overnight, with potentially high winds.
