5 Projects Will Cause Detours, Construction In Hoboken Wednesday Through Friday
The city has announced at least 5 projects all over Hoboken that may cause traffic changes around town through this Friday, Sept. 16.

HOBOKEN, NJ — From cleaning storm drains to building bike routes, the city of Hoboken has announced several projects this week that will cause some road detours, closures, and traffic changes.
The projects can be found in every corner of town, from First and Harrison streets to 14th and Hudson.

South Waterfront Bikeway Improvements, Wednesday Through Friday:
The city and South Waterfront Corporation are upgrading the bikeway along the south waterfront walkway from Pier A to Pier C.

According to the city, the contractor will undertake the following activities from Wednesday,
Sept. 14 to Friday, Sept. 16 from 8-4, with setup starting at 7 a.m.:
- Stripping the landscape area between Sinatra Drive and the bikeway
- Beginning planting and landscaping

Roadway Resurfacing Through Friday
From 9-6 this Monday through Friday, various streets will be resurfaced. This includes intersections near the Wallace School, so that work may be confined to 9-2:
- ADA ramp construction at the intersection of 11th Street and Clinton Street. (All four corners)
- Hoboken Police will manage the traffic flow at the intersections for any lane closures.
- No parking will be permitted within this area during working hours.
Sewer Work And Northwest Park To Improve Flooding
Construction continues on the 5-acre Northwest Resiliency Park (northwest corner of town), which will be New Jersey’s largest resiliency park. The contractor will undertake the following activities during the week of Sept. 12, from 8-4:
- Construct sidewalks
- Install fountain piping and connections
This week, the North Hudson Sewerage Authority will work on projects near 13th Street, such as building a stormwater collection gravity trunk sewer pipeline and appurtenances from Adams Street to Madison Street on 13th, and a stormwater force main sewer pipeline and appurtenances along a portion of 13th street from Jefferson Street to Adams Street.
Traffic Signal Upgrades
From 8-6 all week, contractors will work on traffic signal upgrades near 14th and Hudson streets:
- Installation of traffic signal underground conduits and foundations on 14th Street and Hudson Street.
- Installation of concrete curbs and sidewalks at 14th Street and Hudson Street.
Various Drainage Improvements
The city of Hoboken’s contractor, Shauger Contracting, is making various drainage improvements in western Hoboken, including at:
- 117 Harrison St.
- 310 Harrison St.
- 619 Jefferson St.
NHSA 11th Street Sewer Cleaning Project
From this Monday through Friday, 8-6, contractors will clean water mains on 11th Street and:
- Manhole Installation and pavement restoration work will occur on 11th Street between Monroe Street and Madison Street.
- Test pits and manhole installation work will occur on the eastbound side of 11th Street between Madison Street and Jefferson Street.
Traffic Management
- Traffic detours will be expected in some areas.
- 11 Street between Monroe Street and Madison Street is anticipated to be closed for 24 hours a day.
- Hoboken Police will manage the traffic flow at the intersections for any detours.
- No parking will be permitted within this area during working hours.
