'Strong To Severe' Thuderstorms Expected For Hoboken Area Friday: See What Time

NORTH JERSEY, NJ — A Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued for North Jersey including Bergen and Hudson counties. for Friday evening. It says:

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop ahead of a cold front and move through the region this afternoon and evening. Some thunderstorms could be strong to severe, capable of producing gusty to damaging winds, large hail and brief heavy downpours. Localized flash flooding is possible.

A half inch to an inch of rain is expected to fall between 2 and 9 p.m.

Rain falling at more than .08 inch per hour can cause a flash flood. High tide is at 3:54 p.m., but is relatively low, at 4.1 feet.
