These 3 Roads Will Be Repaved In Hoboken All Week; Parking Not Allowed

Three more roads will be resurfaced in Hoboken this week, part of a project to repave and add pedestrian safety features to 82 roads.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken plans to resurface 82 blocks of roads this year, including milling and paving on 13 blocks this week.

They have already repaved Hudson Street (see photos above).

Repaving of these 13 blocks will be funded by a $734,000 state grant.

Starting Monday, the city will repave and upgrade:

  • Second Street from Clinton Street to River Street
  • Third Street from Park Avenue to Washington Street
  • Sixth Street from Jackson Street to Madison Street

"No parking signs will be posted along those routes for the estimated days of milling and paving," the city said last week.

Due to paving on Second Street, access to Municipal Garage B at 28 Second St. will be temporarily restricted on Monday, May 2, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Wednesday, May 4, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., the city said.

The project is part of the city’s 2022 Resurfacing and Complete Streets Program.

Vision Zero safety upgrades will be implemented after repaving, including 12 painted curb extensions, one concrete curb extension, 46 high visibility crosswalks, ADA-compliant ramp upgrades, flexible bollards, and new striping.
