Hoboken Traffic Detoured For Christmas Tree Lighting For Evening Commute Thursday
Traffic near 11th Street in uptown Hoboken will be detoured for two and a half hours during the evening commute due to a tree lighting.
HOBOKEN, NJ — A Christmas tree-lighting in Hoboken will reroute traffic away from 11th Street Thursday afternoon, officials say.
Eleventh Street between Bloomfield and Washington streets will be closed to vehicular traffic from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for the 4:15 p.m. ceremony, the city said.
Temporary no parking signs will be posted in the area, the city said.

The annual Christmas Tree Lighting will take place at 11th and Washington streets, not at City Hall as in the past.
The Hive will provide free hot chocolate and cookies, and Apple Montessori Schools will hand out glow sticks.

They will feature Elvis the Elf, live performances by Hoboken Cheer Dynamics, Studio L Hoboken Dancers, the Garden Street School of the Performing Arts, Hoboken High School Chorus, Hoboken High School Flute Ensemble, Brandt School Chorus, Connors School Chorus, Wallace School Chorus, and a special guest appearance by Santa Claus.
