Two New Directors For Hoboken City Hall

Two women were promoted to become directors in the city of Hoboken.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Two women who work for the city of Hoboken were approved by the City Council to head two city departments, Mayor Ravi Bhalla said late last week.

On Wednesday, Feb. 7, the Hoboken City Council unanimously approved Bhalla's appointments of Jennifer Gonzalez and Diana Aviles to head the new Department of Climate Action & Innovation and the Department of Parks, Recreation, & Public Works, respectively.

Director Gonzalez has led the Department of Environmental Services for five years, and Director Aviles has served
as Deputy Director of Transportation and Parking for two years, the city said.

Other personnel in the departments will continue to work under Gonzalez. Jessica Lezcano will continue to be director of the Division of Recreation.
