Uber Sets Up First NJ Office In Hoboken

Expect to see more from Uber in Hoboken in the near future.

The electronic ride share service cut the ribbon on its new Hoboken partner support center on Tuesday, giving the technology company’s 9,000 driver partners throughout the state a single stop for their support needs.

“Since launching Uber in NJ in September 2013, we haven’t had a permanent home,” said Uber New Jersey general Manager Ana Mahony “Now we’re proud to have this home in Hoboken, and we’re excited to give partners a place where they can get best in class customer service and support as we continue to grow our business.”

Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer was on hand - along with dozens of driver partners - to cut the ribbon and launch the next phase of Uber’s New Jersey presence.

“I welcome Uber to Hoboken and congratulate them on opening their first office in New Jersey. As the most transit-dependent city in the country, Uber provides many Hoboken residents with a valuable transportation option,” Zimmer said.

According to a release, the center, located on Washington Street, will be a “space where partners can take care of virtually all of their needs, from signing up as a driver to technical support.”

Currently, Uber has more than 9,000 New Jersey driver-partners, and that number is expected to rise by the end of 2015.

The Hoboken area is one of the company’s major hubs, with more than 100,000 trips per month and nearly 40,000 riders.
