Vaccine Cards Still Required In These NJ Venues

Sports facilities, theaters, and a children's museum are among the venues that still require vaccine proof in New Jersey.

NEW JERSEY — While some COVID mitigation measures have been dropped in New Jersey, including masks in public schools and state buildings as of this week, certain large venues are keeping their safety measures in place — not just requiring masks, but also requesting vaccine proof or a negative COVID test for entrance.

For those traveling across the river to New York City's Broadway theaters, most of those venues still require vaccine cards as well.

Here are some of the venues in New Jersey that still list policies requiring vaccines or a negative PCR test to enter. Check the website or call before heading over, as the rules are rapidly changing:

  • Many community theaters around the state require masks or vaccine proof and have been compiled on the NJ Theater Alliance website. Theaters from Cape May to Morristown list their requirements. See the list here.
  • Liberty Science Center in Jersey City kicked off the new Minecraft exhibit world tour last month. They noted, "As a science institution, we are committed to following public health guidance that strongly indicates vaccinations are the most effective way to protect ourselves and our community."   • Rutgers in New Brunswick announced that of this week, those attending indoor events, including indoor sports like basketball, must show vaccine proof or a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours. Find out more here.
  • Paper Mill Playhouse, a theater and education center in Millburn that offers classes for kids 5 and up, as of March 11 requires vaccine proof for people age 5 and over, or a negative COVID test. Find out more here.

  • American Dream Mall requires masks indoors for unvaccinated guests, but not vaccination proof. Read more here.
  • Great Adventure in Jackson does not require vaccinations or masks, but recommends mask-wearing for unvaccinated individuals. Find out more here.
  • MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford recommends but doesn't require masking in indoor spaces. Find out more here.
  • The Prudential Center in Newark no longer requires vaccination proof or masks as of March 2. Read more here.
  • Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange doesn't require vaccine proof but requires masks in indoor locations.
