Vegan Restaurant In Jersey City Heights Says, '$6K Rent? Help Us!'
"Being a Latino family, we broke stereotypes," said a vegan restaurant in Jersey City Heights, directing people to their fundraiser.
HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — Unexpectedly high rent increases in Hudson County haven't just been threatening the stability of families, but their businesses as well.
Tuesday night, one popular restaurant in Jersey City Heights said it had started a GoFundMe to stay in business as a food truck.
The restaurant, vegan AF, commented, "$6K Rent? WTF!"

They explained, "For about four years ago, right before the Pandemic hit us by a storm, we opened Vegan AF. We held this concept very close to us as being a Latino family, we broke stereotypes of being plant-based while still embracing our culture through our affordable meals. Since then, our meals filled with joy and love had touched everyone’s hearts."

live off from this restaurant, as it is our family’s only income. In order to pay our goods as everyone else should be able to with their main singular income. We are in risk of losing our home and restaurant because of rent increasing within our area."
They said, "Our area that was once filled with love and culture, now slowly being replaced with the common rest of the world. Plant based communities are slowly dying because of this economy, simply because not everyone can afford for example, oat milk..."
