Violent Crime, Thefts Trending Down In Hoboken: Police Chief
Hoboken is halfway through 2018, and there's good news for local residents, the city's police chief says.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken is halfway through 2018, and there’s good news for local residents, the city’s police chief says. According to the Hoboken Police Department’s mid-year crime statistics report, 10 of 13 categories are trending downward, including violent crime, theft and “overall crime.”
Hoboken Police Chief Ken Ferrante released some of the city’s mid-year stats on Thursday, writing:
“10 of 13 categories are DOWN! After having only 70 reported thefts in June which was down 31.3% from June 2017, year to date, the Theft category is now down 13.1%. Violent Crime is down 3.9%. Overall crime is down 10.1%.”
