Massive Brawl Outside Hoboken Bar Ends In 6 Arrests
The fight was started by a "verbal dispute," Hoboken police say.
Hoboken, NJ – A massive, late night brawl outside a Hoboken bar ended in six arrests and several injuries, authorities said.
According to the Hoboken Police Department, the fight began on Wednesday around 1:30 a.m. outside the Green Rock Tap and Grill at 70 Hudson Street, where officers were posted and awaiting a large crowd to disperse from the area.
A nearby resident captured the incident on video, which was posted to YouTube and removed a few hours afterwards after garnering hundreds of views.

The Hoboken Police Department issued a statement about the origin of the brawl:
“As the patrons were exiting the establishment, a verbal dispute erupted on the outside. Police headquarters was advised of the situation and additional units responded to assist. The verbal argument escalated into a large physical altercation.”

According to the HPD, several people were injured in the battle:
- Hoboken police officer Roberto Cuevas was transported to the hospital, where he was treated for an injury he suffered to his left thumb
- A male victim was found suffering from a laceration to his face and blurred vision after reportedly being hit by a glass bottle; Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps responders transported him to Hoboken University Medical Center for treatment
- An employee of the bar suffered a small contusion to his head but refused further treatment
Officers from the Port Authority Police Department, Hudson County Sheriff’s Office, Secaucus Police Department, Steven’s Campus Police Department and New Jersey Transit Police Department responded and helped Hoboken cops to break up the melee, authorities said.
Hoboken police officers that helped to clear the brawl included: Michael Losurdo, Michael Aviles, Roberto Cuevas, Ricky Truppner, Luke Zeszotarski, Sam Williams and Sgt. Jonathan Butler.
Police eventually arrested six people:
- Travis Rivera, 24, Hoboken
- Hector Solano, 27, Hoboken
- Moses Sanchez, 25, Hoboken
- Robert Goodwin, 28, Hoboken
- Dariel Aybar, 25, West New York
- Joel Ortiz, 21, West New York
Authorities charged each of the arrestees with aggravated assault, failure to disperse in a riot and disorderly conduct. Goodwin, Aybar and Ortiz were also processed and charged with outstanding warrants from different municipalities.
All involved were issued summonses and released.
