WATCH: Trump: 'Thousands' Cheered In N.J. Town As Twin Towers Fell On Sept. 11, 2001

Trump called for surveillance of mosques, saying he saw thousands - some presumably Muslims - cheer in Jersey City after WTC buildings fell.

Billionaire and presidential candidate Donald Trump reiterated his call for surveillance of mosques as a way to fighter terrorism, telling a crowd he saw thousands of people cheering when the Twin Towers fell on Sept. 11, 2001.

Trump was apparently referring to a Jersey City crowd that included Muslims, saying “thousands of people were cheering, so something is going on.”

“I want surveillance of these people. I want surveillance if we have to and I don’t care,” he told.
