Water Main Break, Car Crash, And St. Ann Procession May Disrupt Hoboken Traffic

HOBOKEN, NJ — The annual procession of the 600-lb. St. Ann statue around town wasn't the only thing disrupting traffic in Hoboken on Wednesday morning.
At 10:09 a.m., the Hoboken police sent a message saying that due to a car crash in the area of Paterson Plank Road near the light rail tracks, "Expect traffic conditions. We will update when complete."
They said there were two vehicles involved in the crash in the southwest corner of town.

An update at 10:39 a.m. said units were still on the scene, and to continue avoiding the area.
Also, the Office of Emergency Management noted at 9:21 a.m., "Veolia is on scene at 13th Street and Willow Ave. to conduct repairs to a broken service line." There may be low or no water pressure in the area, OEM said.

Today (Wednesday) is the last day of the annual St. Ann's Festival. Mass was to begin at 11 a.m., followed by the traditional procession through the streets of the 600-pound statue of St. Ann, the goddess of fertility. The procession will start in the area of the church at Seventh and Jefferson streets.
