Welcome Back, Potter: Hoboken Leads 29 Schools To Perform 'Harry Potter' Play
The Hoboken district is rehearsing the first North American school version of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child," and others will follow.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Now that Hoboken High School and a school in London have been selected as the first high schools to perform a version of Broadway's "Harry Potter And The Cursed Child," 29 other schools in the U.S. have been selected to follow.
The other schools were announced last week.
"Hoboken High School in Hoboken, New Jersey, and Riverside School in Barking, London, were selected as the first schools in their respective countries to perform the show," says a story on the Rowling Library website. Hoboken High School is tentatively set to perform its version from May 15-19, 2024 (mark your calendars).
The pilot production will allow the play's producers to figure out how to stage it at the other schools.

- Sullivan High School, Missouri
- Flathead High School, Montana
- Faith Lutheran High School, Nevada
- Cornwall Central High School, New York
- Cape Hatteras Secondary School, North Carolina
- Firestone CLC Akron School for the Arts, Ohio
- Riverfield Country Day School, Oklahoma
- Roosevelt High School, Oregon
- York County School of Technology, Pennsylvania
- Caribbean School, Puerto Rico
- Hot Springs High School, South Dakota
- Collierville High School, Tennessee
- East View High School, Texas

The schools completed in the “Wands at the Ready” competition for the right to perform the play.
The competition "was designed to distinguish the most extraordinary schools in each state or territory in the US, affording them the opportunity to premiere the new edition locally. The newly announced victors will unveil their final productions between October 15 and November 10, preceded by several developmental pilot shows in the preceding months.
"The pilot programs are essential to ensure that each participating school can effectively convey the magic of the show within their budgetary and technical constraints."
