Spring Shuffleboard League

Fun Bar League Expands to Asbury Park!

ASBURY PARK, NJ -- There’s a new game in town, and it’s called the ABL Bar Shuffleboard League.

The ABL (American Ballplayers League) has expanded its growing Shuffleboard League to the great beach community of Asbury Park. Young professionals and adults 21 & over can enter a team and compete for the championship.

“It’s a great way to kick back and unwind after a long day of work,” says league commissioner Jason Ross, who founded the league in Hoboken, NJ back in 2014.

“The league website has the division standings, schedule and we even keep individual and team statistics. The best teams make the playoffs. On a Monday or Tuesday night, guys and girls meet at the local bar, drink a cold beer or two and play in a fun, competitive bar league. What’s not to like?”

In 2015, over 90 teams registered to play in the league. The object of the game is to slide a round puck across a sandy table and get it as far down without falling over the edge. Opponents can knock you off, or try to beat your distance. Points are accumulated each round by the winning team, and games are played to 21.
