Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Monday Snow, Sleet In NJ
A winter weather advisory has been issued though most of New Jersey for a mix of sleet and snow Monday, the National Weather Service said.
Get ready for some more messy weather. A winter weather advisory is in effect for most of New Jersey – particularly the central, southern and Jersey Shore areas – from 1 to 9 p.m. on Monday.
The National Weather Service says a wintry mix of precipitation is expected. Periods of light freezing rain, sleet and snow are anticipated. A hazardous weather outlook was issued for the most northern areas of the state.

Here are the affected areas:

A few hundredths of an inch of ice will likely accumulate on untreated roads and walkways. Also, there may be a few tenths of an inch of sleet and snow.

The bad weather will be mostly happening on Monday afternoon and Monday evening, including the Monday evening commute.
Ice will likely create hazardous conditions on area roads and walkways. Icy conditions are expected to continue on Monday night and Tuesday morning as temperatures remain below freezing at most locations.

Here is the forecast:
- Sunday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 14. Southwest wind 3 to 6 mph.
- Monday: A slight chance of snow between 2pm and 3pm, then a chance of freezing rain and sleet. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 33. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Little or no snow and sleet accumulation expected.
- Monday night: Sleet likely, mainly before 9pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 29. Southwest wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Little or no sleet accumulation expected.
- Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 40. Northwest wind 9 to 15 mph.
