Father Kills Daughter In Hudson County, Prosecutor Says

Errol Brown, 52, was charged with murder after his daughter was shot to death inside a Bayonne apartment, prosecutors said.

BAYONNE, NJ — A man is facing charges after authorities said he fatally shot his daughter inside a Bayonne apartment Monday night.

Errol Brown, 52, of Bayonne, was arrested and charged with murder and possession of a weapon for an unlawful person, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said in a news release. Prosecutors said Brown is accused of killing his daughter, 27-year-old Keyanna Brown of Bayonne.

According to authorities, police were called to an apartment at 331 Avenue E. around 11:35 p.m. Monday for a reported shooting. When officers arrived, prosecutors said they found Keyanna Brown suffering from a gunshot wound to her upper body.

Keyanna Brown was pronounced dead at the scene, prosecutors said. The cause and manner of her death are pending the findings of an autopsy by the Regional Medical Examiner's Office, prosecutors said.

Errol Brown is being held at the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance, according to authorities.
