Woman Found A Pile of Cash In Hoboken, But No One Has Claimed It
It was in a TD Bank envelope, but the bank said they couldn't help her locate the owner.

HOBOKEN —A Rutherford woman found hundreds of dollars in a TD Bank envelope in Hoboken on Monday, two days before Christmas, and knew the owner must be very worried. But so far, she has not been able to find out who dropped it there.
Kristen, 30, who asked that her name not be used, posted all over social media during the week and went into the local TD Bank, figuring if she gave them the amount, they could find the owner. But the bank only told her there were too many transactions that day, and they couldn't help.
"I just feel so bad because that’s a lot of money," Kristen said on Friday.

Kristen, who works in Hoboken during the day, noticed the money on the corner of Observer Highway and Monroe Street around 12:10 p.m. That spot in the southwestern corner of town near the Jersey City border, and near an artery to Routes 1 and 9 and the Holland Tunnel.
The nearest TD Bank is about a mile east near the waterfront, at 47 Newark St. That's where Kristen went next with the money.

When she posted about the cash on Facebook, readers complimented her honesty and tried to help. "We need more people like you in the world!" wrote one woman in response. Another said, "Thank you for being a good person. You might turn it into the bank or the police, as the person who lost it might check those two places."
Kristen said if someone is missing the cash, they can contact the Hoboken Police Department (201-420-2100), as she no longer has it. But she's curious to know who the owner is. She said she checked with the police Friday morning and it had not been claimed.
