Woman Pepper Sprayed During Brawl Outside Dunkin' Donuts in Hoboken

The combatants trade assault charges and a Jersey City woman gets arrested.

Hoboken police arrested a Jersey City woman for pepper spraying another combatant during a brawl outside the Dunkin’ Donuts on Washington Street.

Officers arrived on the scene around 1:53 a.m. to find a “large group” fighting outside the store.

According to police, one of the fighters – Joslyn Ayala, 22, of Jersey City – pepper sprayed another woman during the scuffle, causing a “temporary loss of vision to the victim’s right eye” that required medical attention.

Several of the involved parties filed simple assault charges against each other on the scene.

Police arrested Ayala and charged her with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon.

She was released on her own recognizance with a future court date.
