Work Stop On Hoboken Water Main Project For Thanksgiving
Work on a large water main replacement project in Hoboken will take a short break for the holidays.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Work on a large water main replacement project in Hoboken will take a short break for the holidays, city officials recently said.
Construction on the first phase of the city’s water main replacement project will continue from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 25 and Tuesday, Nov. 26. Work will also take place from 8 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Nov. 26.
City officials said Garden Street between 2nd Street and 3rd Street, and 2nd Street between Garden Street and Bloomfield Street, will be closed on Monday, Nov. 25 for work occurring at the intersection.

Garden Street between Observer Highway and Newark Street will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 26.
“Parking will be restricted during this time as well,” officials stated. “No water service interruptions are anticipated.”

No work will take place on Thursday, Nov. 28 and Friday, Nov. 29 due to the holiday, officials said.
When complete, the massive construction effort will replace a total of 15 blocks – or about 7,000 linear feet – of Hoboken’s oldest water mains.
