‘World’s Largest’ Free-Flying Flag Rises Above Hoboken

The humongous balloon weighs in at 530 pounds and is 53 feet tall, 78 feet wide and 29 feet deep.

Hoboken, NJ – The “world’s largest free-flying American flag” rose above Hoboken on Tuesday.

The flag-shaped PNC Salutes America hot air balloon was inflated at Stevens Institute of Technology on June 14 in a special tribute to the 100th anniversary of Flag Day, MyCentralJersey.com reported.

Weighing in at 530 pounds, the 53 feet tall, 78 feet wide and 29 feet deep, the balloon is due to appear at the upcoming 34th annual QuickChek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning at Solberg Airport in Readington, NJ, from July 29 to 31.
