Details Revealed In Garden State Parkway Van Crash That Killed 2, Injured 12
Two people were killed and 12 were injured after a van overturned on the Garden State Parkway Friday, police said.

Details were revealed in a crash that killed two people and injured 12 on the Garden State Parkway on Friday night, according to police.
Esperanza Guardado-Quintani, 56, of Elizabeth and Charles Derosier, 30, of Irvington were killed in the crash that seriously injured four others, according to the State Police.
A van driven by Manual Perez, 58, was traveling in the northbound express lanes near Exit 117 on the Parkway, near Route 36 in Holmdel, at 6:48 p.m. when the driver lost control, police said.

Perez's van, which carried 14 people, was traveling in left lane when it crossed the roadway to right side. The van then rolled over, struck a guardrail and then struck a concrete overpass support, police said.
Guardado-Quintani was ejected from the van, and she and Derosier were pronounced dead at 10:02 p.m. by the Monmouth County Medical Examiner's Office, police said.

Several accident victims were brought to Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel, but their conditions were unknown at press time.
The accident closed two left lanes at mile-marker 117.7, and traffic was diverted onto the local lanes, police said.
The road was reopened around 10:40 p.m.
Police originally reported that 14 people were injured, but later corrected the number, saying it was 12.
