1,500 Lost Power Wednesday Morning in Hazlet

The outage is in the area of Bethany Road, Hazlet Avenue and Holmdel Road.

Hazlet Township, NJ - Update: 11:11 a.m.: The power has been restored to nearly all customers except for 14 homes as of 11 a.m. Wednesday, Hazlet police said.

The outage was caused by a downed wire on Kaylen Drive. All customers had power back by 1 p.m. Wednesday, JCP&L spokesman Ron Morano told Patch.

More than 1,500 homes in Hazlet Township lost power sometime before 9 a.m. Wednesday, reports the Hazlet Township PD and Jersey Central Power & Light.

The outage is in the area of Bethany Road, Hazlet Avenue and Holmdel Road. JCP&L crews are enroute. The cause remains to be determined, and the electricity is expected to be back on by 11:30 a.m. at the latest, JCP&L said.
