Hazlet, NJ - Four new police officers have joined the Hazlet Township police force, township officials announced. Pictured in the center are Ptl. Cody Sachs, Ptl. Nicholas Hungerford, Ptl. Nicholas Torres, and Ptl. Nathan Rucinski.

The four rookie officers are seen here last week, when they graduated from the Cape May County Police Academy, which they have been attending since late August. They will now go through 15 weeks of field training before they can patrol on their own.

These officers are replacements for officers who retired in 2014 and 2015. Rucinski was the highest scoring recruit in the Physical Fitness Training among the entire class.
